Data Analyst

BorderX Lab is creator of the Beyond Fashion and Beauty Discovery Marketplace launched in 2014. We connect Chinese shoppers to official websites of brands and merchants including Saks, Bloomingdales, Everlane, Finish Line and Alexander Wang. Through our direct partnerships with major US and European fashion + beauty brands we guarantee our users receive authentic products at authentic prices. For brands we provide a turn-key solution to China localization and logistics. BorderX Lab has offices in Silicon Valley and Shanghai.

 

As a Data Analyst you will be an integral team member who will dive into our rich consumer data and generate strategic insights to influence decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dive deep into large data sets to calculate key business metrics, such as CAC, LTV, conversion, retention, etc.

  • Design, development and evaluation of statistical models for classification, prediction, content ranking, and anomaly detection.

  • Develop A/B testing plan and perform statistical analysis on A/B testing results and provide insights.

  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects for different departments including marketing, operation, product, merchant partnerships, as well as ongoing reporting.

  • Help conduct customer survey and utilize customer insights to suggest programs to improve user experience.

  • Identify, develop and execute data analysis to monitor business performance and customer behavior and uncover areas of opportunity.

  • Maintain data integrity and troubleshooting issues.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree and 2+ yrs relevant professional experience, or advanced degree in STEM fields and 1+ yr professional experience in consumer based Internet company.

  • Experience performing statistical analysis and statistical modeling to solve real business problems on large dataset.

  • Must be proficient in SQL and able to write complex queries.

  • Understanding of Internet-based consumer behavior and direct-marketing principles.

  • Eligible to work in the US without employment visa sponsorship.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with a variety of audiences.

  • Proficient in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
